About Us

Small Creek Forge was founded in 2025 by Francis.

Francis has grown into a love of cooking for his family, friends, and co-workers in the fire station. As a full time firefighter he is acutely aware of chemicals and toxins that are bad for your health. After searching for safer cookware for his everyday life, he realized what he was looking for wasn't available locally, so he set out to make it. 

Pulling on decades of working with his hands, he established a forge in his shop in Embrun, to produce a healthier and more sustainable form of cookware: Carbon Steel Skillets. He is drawn to carbon steel, for its versatility, durability and an overall healthier option for cooking everyday meals.

When Francis is not in the shop making skillets or working on new designs, he spends his time flying, travelling with his wife, or tending to the vegetable garden with his two dogs.
